The book features 20 custom-designed houses in Thailand completed between 1980 and 2002. The houses represent the work of eleven architectural practices, a landscape architect, an interior designer and an artist.

In varying degrees the houses demonstrate the designers’ deep appreciation of Thai cultural traditions, their awareness of environmental concerns, and the influence of ideas from the West. The houses define benchmarks in Thailand’s private houses in the last two decades of the 20th century and the opening years of the 21st century. The book contains an introductory essay by Duangrit Bunnag.
